Literature Text

Amidst the verdant grass and rushy reeds,
Amidst their rustle and the small birds’ chirp,
My life’s love settles underneath the tree.
And my sweet marriage you tenderly usurp.

The birds’ slow ballad slowly is engulfed
By moans and screams of passion I don’t know.
Now necks are nibbled, hair is clenched and pulled,
While closer to your climax you two grow.

All this I see from inside the tall grass.
The reason I came here I cannot recall.
I’m focused on the present, not the past.
My hand on the trigger, through the reeds I crawl.

And from the grass I rise and stand unbowed.
And under that tree both your heads explode.

This is one of those hilarious you-could-make-this-way-more-pretentious-sounding-by-calling-it-autobiography poems. I love it.
